Graduate Assistant Accountant

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, professional environment.

The remuneration for the position is $80,000 plus super.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Graduate Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day execution of accounting and finance activities across the business. The role provides exposure to a broad range of accounting functions within a project-based manufacturing environment, supporting accurate financial reporting and compliance.

You will assist and ensure deliverables across key finance and administrative areas, including:

Accounts Payable – assisting with invoice processing, reconciliations, and supplier queries
Accounts Receivable – supporting invoicing, receipting, and customer account maintenance
General Accounting Support – assisting with month-end processes and basic accounting checks and duties.
Data & Records – ensuring data and records are maintained accurately and confidentially

Technical Sales Specialist - Hybrid

In the role of Technical Sales for our FloodFree solutions, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our business by nurturing existing leads and new opportunities. This role will require a strong blend of sales experience in a professional environment and technical aptitude, enabling you to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that help protect the environment. You’ll be responsible for delivering technically sound and commercially viable flood mitigation solutions. This is a consultative sales role — one that combines technical understanding, solution design, and commercial negotiation to deliver outcomes that protect people, property, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Solutions: Understand customer requirements, identify challenges, and provide tailored technical solutions. You will prepare quotes, create proposals, and communicate how our solutions can meet customer needs.

Technical Sales: Leverage your technical sales ability to explain complex products and their benefits clearly. Ensure that you are presenting solutions that are technically sound and feasible, with a focus on value and ROI for the customer.

Solution Proposals: Prepare detailed proposals, quotations, and technical documentation that communicate value and ensure accuracy.

Commercial Negotiation: Facilitate the negotiation of project and contract terms that balance customer requirements with AWMA’s commercial objectives.

Sales Strategy: Support development of Sales Strategy that aligns with AWMA’s goals and objectives.

Self-Motivation: Independently manage and prioritise tasks to achieve sales targets while delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor and maintaining ongoing communication.

Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities.

Closing Deals: Demonstrate the value of our solutions, ensuring that you successfully close deals and contribute to business growth.

Travel: Travel as required within Australia to meet customers, attend exhibitions, and conduct site visits.

About you:

You will be an accomplished professional sales person with at least 5+ years of experience in technical sales or a related field. You’ll bring:

A proven track record in sales, ideally within the water management or technical solutions industry. Experience is a must for this role.
The ability to present complex technical solutions to customers in a clear, engaging, and customer-focused way.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, ensuring you meet and exceed sales targets.
A solid understanding of technical solutions and customer requirements.
Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce experience is an advantage).

We’re based in Cohuna, nestled along the Murray River in Northern Victoria. Just a short drive from Echuca, the region offers a laid-back lifestyle, scenic waterways, and tranquil bushland.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate and weld stainless steel sheet, plate and pipe across varying thicknesses.
Read and interpret engineering drawings to set up materials and fabricate components to specification.
Perform high-quality MIG welding and operate a range of fabrication equipment.
Adjust machine settings and techniques to suit different materials and conditions, with a strong understanding of the heat-affected zone.
Accurately align and clamp components using measuring tools like callipers and rulers.
Conduct inspections of welds and joints to ensure they meet technical and safety requirements.
Follow AWMA’s strict health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Work independently while upholding high standards of quality and efficiency.

About You

5+ years’ experience as a Boilermaker or Metal Fabricator in a similar environment.
Proficient in MIG and ARC welding, with strong technical capability.
Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications.
Excellent mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Skilled with fabrication equipment, hand and power tools, and metal cutting machinery.
Safety-focused, reliable, and able to take direction when required.
