AWMA were engaged by the Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) in a three stage project to provide Lake Level Control for Flood Mitigation of the Boobegan Creek Weir and Loch.
Located at Clear Island Waters on the Gold Coast, LayFlat Gates were required to reduce the time period for the lowering of the upstream lake level.
Initially, original drop-bars were replaced with three AWMA LayFlat Gates, under manual actuation. A couple of months later, all three gates were automated to a central control cabinet on-site.
The full turn-key service for this project was provided by AWMA including, site visits, project management, design/drafting, manufacture, installation and electrical contracting. The following year, two additional LayFlat Gates were installed and linked into the existing automated control system.
AWMA infrastructure and software allows for straightforward extensions and upgrades of works including SCADA networking.
