Ageing Radial Gates were replaced with AWMA ULF undershot penstocks at GWMWater’s Huddleston’s Weir, located near Halls Gap, Victoria.
Designed, manufactured and installed by AWMA, the undershots were both 4.5m x 2.3m in size, manufactured from marine grade aluminium.
The purpose of the Huddleston’s Weir modifications was to improve the passage of environmental flow to the Wimmera River.
The new regulator gates enable the restriction of flow into the GWMWater water supply system in order to better facilitate and measure environmental water flow in the Wimmera River, downstream of Huddleston’s Weir.
The site will be operated via local push-button automated control, to be easily integrated into GWMWater’s SCADA System when required.
