AWMA were engaged by the Thiess Degrémont Joint Venture to design, manufacture, supply and commission over 100 flow control structures with associated lifting mechanisms and storage solutions for the Victorian Desalination Plant.
Installation of flow control structures was supervised by AWMA to ensure product integrity and effectiveness.
The top sealing segmented stoplogs are designed to isolate up to 60 tonne of water load per segment (14m head pressure each).
Victoria’s new desalination plant will be capable of producing 150 billion litres of water per year, independent of rainfall.
Desalination plant infrastructure has demanding specifications in regards to design, material selection, quality assurance and documentation.
AWMA’s experience with the successful delivery of water control structures for the Sydney and Perth Desalination plants reinforced AWMA’s capacity to deliver this vital water project, on time and on budget.
